Myspace Music

Myspace has affected us all in different ways since its rise to stardom. The biggest way it has affected me personally is as a musician. Myspace Music lets a band or any of its individual members contact venues, other bands, or each other at any time for booking information, keep track of and display a show calendar, gives fans a way to access their favorite bands, and keeps your music just a click away from whoever is interested. Gone are the days of having to know somebody’s friend’s cousin who is in charge of booking at a venue and trying to slip your demo tape into their lunch unnoticed. Hooray!

Rule 1 Rule 2 Rule 3 Rule 4 Rule 5 Rule 6 Rule 7 Rule 8 Total
Myspace Music 5 3 4 4 3 3 5 5 32

Rule 1 got a 5 due to the programs consistent user-friendly interface. Rule 2 received a 3 really only due to a lack of depth for different categories of users. Rule 3 got a 4 for having dialog boxes that make sure you want to do what you’re doing. Rule 4 also received a 4 for the song upload process which has the appropriate semantics. Rules 5 and 6 got a 3 because once you delete a song, contact, or message, it’s gone; however, a song or contact can be re-added. Rule 7 received a 5 simply because of how easy using this program is over the alternative. Rule 8 got a five because you could have amnesia and learn the program again in about five minutes.
